What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Browser data stored according to browser cooking settings is not stored in our system.

Right to rectification – You have a right to notify is when some of your personal data is incorrect, e.g. if you changes your name, changed your address, and we are obliged to correct the wrong data.

Right to restriction of processing – From the moment you asked for the rectification or you objected against us processing your data until the moment, when we can verify the accuracy or your data or change them according to your instructions, you have the right to restriction of processing. That means that we (with the exception of storage of personal data) can process your data only with your consent, if it’s required by law, to protect the rights of other person or if there is a important public interest. You can request to have the processing of your data restricted, if the processing is illegal, but you don’t want your data deleted.

Right to object – If you believe, that we do not have the right to process your personal data, you can object to our processing. In that case we can continue with processing only, if we can prove legal reasons that override your interests, rights and freedoms. However we can always process your data if it is necessary for setting, invoking or protecting legal claims.
